Oh and Stefano, you can contact me if you'd like help with your GT500. I restore them for a living and would be happy to help out a mate in Italy!

The VIN is blocked out, as Bret, a Shelby hunter from the East Coast, has the paperwork and is hiding the VIN from most, so that he can be the first to find and hopefully buy the car. He has spoken to me about it before and also told me the VIN, whether by accident or not, I don't know.

The Car Hunter says:

One more thing. Why is the vin number blocked out on the registration as seen above?

its certainly blocked out to limit the proliferation of that #, if the vin of a valuable missing mustang with 40 years of unknown history was bouncing around the internet there would be half a dozen lost morrison shelbys that would turn up and be sold off to suckers.

Hell there are probably some cars out there with parts that could be sourced to that car

obviously if someone wanted the vin they could find it, but why make fraud easier?

So here is the likely possibilities. A. The car was wrecked, frame was bend and or the entire body was bent. Now we have to remember this. Mechanics alot of times, will total out a car even though the car is repairable. So what we could be looking at is a case of the mechanic and or body man telling jim that "hey, look, the car can't be repaired, there has been to much damage from the last wrecks, we will have to total it out" Its also possible that the body man or mechanic, after having worked on the car so much, finaly decided that hey, this dude drinks like a fish, drives like a maniac, and can't keep this thing on the road, he wrecks it again, I am gonna total it out. Probably save his life. Record company, who fit alot of jims bills, probably had the same attitude. His wife, also, probably had the same attitude. So, it is possible that the vehicle itself is still in existance. Damaged, or repaired. Or, its been crushed into a nice small midnight mist blue cube and long ago melted down for scrap. Even then though, with only 47 comeing out of the plant. Anyone would have atleast yaked the engine and transmission before scrapping it. Step one, find the engine and transmission. The rest of the story on the car would soon follow. It is possible its sitting somewhere in the midwest under a stack of hay or in a dirty old barn. Someone should get to work on finding the car.

Wow, that's some pretty nostalgic footage. It's weird seeing how different the country used to look, not so long ago. Well, it was kind of the same, but still different! Love all the old cars.
As for Jim's Shelby, maybe he's still driving it around over in France, or wherever he supposedly is secretly living these days ...o.0...

According to the Marti report there were only 47 Nightmist Blue cars with parchment interiors built in 1967. the fact that Jim and horsepower didn't mix isn't suprising, these cars are beasts, the Blue Lady woul've been no Lady. One less only makes the rest more valuable. Besides some rich celebrity asshole will just squirrel it away. Enjoyed the clip. Hope they never find it.
