I agree with that above comment. "What an amazing piece of history". Who knows what people will be using in a 100 years for transportation. But the car will always be a piece of American Hisotry. Regards, Sole Proprietorships

As a follow up to my previous comment. My grandfather would have loved this blog since he had a passion for cars. I showed it to my mom who is currently in the hospital. She was happy since it reminded her of the good times with her farther which is my grandfather. Thanks, Kenneth Gibbons LLC

Well I have fond memories of the Pinto! I was just a wee young lad at the time, and my Mom and I would tool around town in her metallic brown Pinto in the early-80's. I still remember the strawberry air freshener hanging in the mirror and listening to Abracadabra on the radio. And just about burning my hand when I was curious enough to touch the muffler after a drive, lol!... When my Mom sold it, the car needed some valve work. But a mechanic who did valve work bought it, so just as well.

Nice photo! It reminds me of the black and white classic photos of that era. The title Chicago or Bust is so representative of the American dream and the sense of adventure and courage. I am an American citizen but born in Asia. Though I have traveled and lived in Europe and Asia, there is no other country that I would rather live in than the United States. America is home to me!

Every mistake of a man inspires him to find the next best solution. So the turkeys in the automobile industry doesn't means that it has failed but it makes the way for the improved and higher quality version.

These are great cars....I have a 59 Super Wagon...it was son's first surfmobile - we lived near Santa Cruz CA. We stuck a Ford 8" rear end in it but will go to a 9" now that I got a new engine for it - put a mustang II front clip in...will subfame it when I get home from Afghanistan....got a 2010 440 hp Corvette engine and chevy 6 speed auto for it. plan on chopping the top 2.5 inches to give it a sweet street rod look - will add a small cobra type hood scope and hinge the doors in the rear so they open to the front...other than that and some larger tires it will look pretty much stock. the rear tail gate assembly will hinge on the right side and be a single unit. Plan on 4 bucket seats and a full length center console that wraps up to the dash...it will be a real sleeper on the road....look stock and go like a bat outta haites...can't wait to get home and start working on it....
Good luck woith yours....the are totally cool classic cars....
Ciao, Filippo

The VIN is blocked out, as Bret, a Shelby hunter from the East Coast, has the paperwork and is hiding the VIN from most, so that he can be the first to find and hopefully buy the car. He has spoken to me about it before and also told me the VIN, whether by accident or not, I don't know.

When things get old, so do our interests for it. But when recalled, reminisced, remembered or refreshed, that interest suddenly livens and gives inspiration. Just like the photograph above.
